Michael B. Jordan got some face time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night—and so did his six-pack abs, by way of his All-American cover photo on the December 2015 issue of Men's Fitness.
"Men's Fitness! You're just jacked on this one," Fallon said as he held up a copy of the magazine for the camera, earning cheers (and at least one wolf-whistle) from the audience. "That's a brand-new body," Jordan replied.

Fallon asked about what it's been like for Jordan to take up the mantle. "This is the new generation of Rocky movies," he said. "When you found out about the part, did you just hear the anthem in your head?"
"I just remember seeing [Sylvester Stallone] and Carl Weathers, Apollo Creed, being jacked, and I was like: 'You know what? I just gotta be close,'" Jordan said. "They set the bar so high, and I just gotta be close."

Jordan also explained what it was like to receive his first "full education on boxing," since he'd never boxed before starring Creed.
"[Director] Ryan [Coogler] and Sly [Stallone], they put me around the best boxing minds possible, and I just tried to soak up as much as I could."
The payoff: "I'm hooked," Jordan admitted. "Boxing is one of those things that gets you in great shape, you're mentally focused and disciplined."

It wasn't all washboard abs and shadowboxing, though—Jordan had to take a few shots of his own in the movie.
"Actually, one of the times I did get hit in the film, it was [Stallone's] idea. He was like, 'You know what, Mike, this is your initiation into the world of boxing. And he was smiling like a little kid. He was so happy."
