We'll cut to the chase: There's very little new material in the latest tidbit of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to hit the web. We see a wide shot of a battalion of stormtroopers, and another closeup of a clearly distressed Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her droid BB-8.
But there is one key detail: At the end of the clip posted to the Star Wars Instagram on Thursday, we see Finn (John Boyega) wielding a certain blue lightsaber. Judging by the way the clips are stitched together, he's probably facing off against Dark Side villain Kylo Ren, the first time we've seen those two characters occupying the same teaser-trailer vicinity.
And whereas Ren (Adam Driver) is armed with a crackling, homemade red lightsaber, Finn's emits a familiar sound—that of, shall we say, an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
The Force Awakens hits U.S. theaters on December 18.
